At The Office

1.   At our state-of-the-art pulmonary function laboratory, we perform a Pulmonary Function Test (PFT), which is
      frequently helpful in diagnosing asthma and other pulmonary conditions. Some useful definitions that may help
      you understand what these tests measure:

Ventilation is the process whereby the lung delivers fresh air containing oxygen to the blood stream
Total Lung Capacity (TLC) is a measure of the total volume of air in the lungs
Forced Vital Capacity (FVC) is the rate at which air can be expelled from the lungs

These tests are made to plot the expiratory rates against lung volumes to produce a flow-volume curve.
